This portion of the East Side Access programÌýinvolved structural concrete lining of tunnels, escalator pits, access tunnels and arches coveringÌýfour caverns,Ìýone ventilation facility, andÌýeight cross passages. It also included a four-mile tunnel over 100 feet below MadisonÌýAvenue where over 50,000 feet of underground raceway, signal and communication trough, and grounding systems for future follow-up contracts were installed.
